This is one of the activities toward the world day 12/6 for anti-child labor, which focuses on rights to be protected of children from labor and abused.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Huu, Director of Department of Child care and Protection said: Currently, the world has about 215 million working children, including 115 million working in hard, toxic or dangerous conditions. In Vietnam, there remain about 100,000 children involved in economic activities, 10-15% of whom are working in hard condition.
These numbers continue to force us to seek more effective measures to eliminate all the worst forms of child labor in 2016. Therefore, the photo contest will contribute to encourage people to protect children, help street children, prevent organizations and individuals from child labor abuse and create conditions for all children to acess education, entertainment and overall development.
Photo contest is an alarming to the public on a large part of children who are wandering to earn living or have to work in heavy, toxic or dangerousconditions. The program also delivered a message calling for action by governments at all levels, social organizations, community intervention, help to eliminate street children, prevent organizations and individuals from child labor abuse and create conditions for all children to acess education, entertainment and overall development.
Refer to the content of test files, the photos are required to reflect the life, the fate of children to make a living, in view of respectation; praise, honor of children's rights as well as to eliminate street children, child labor, criticize those who abuse or exploit children. Also, by the photography methods, the authors can express their dreams, the aspirations of children in general, street children, child laborers in heavy, toxic and dangerousconditions.
The photos are single image (not a set of images), taken from 2010 up to now; not participated in previous competitions as well as unpublished in the mass media. All citizens of Vietnam, foreign citizens living in Vietnam are able to send test files, in particular, to encourage children participation. Each author can send the contest up to 5 photos. On each picture has full name, age, address, phone number of the author; name of photos and the meaning of that name.
Time to receive the photos is from 6/4 to 30/5/2012.
