The ceremony drew the participation of leadership from the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, representatives of disadvantaged students in Lang Son province.
120 disadvantaged students from 11 districts and cities of Lang Son province have been presented scholarships, each worth VND3 million, from the NFVC’s “I don’t have to drop out” program.
Since its establishment in 1992, the NFVC has raised more than VND 4trillion, helping 28 million children in difficult circumstances and tens of thousands of children with disabilities.
Launched in 2012, the NFVC’s “I don’t have to drop out” programme has awarded more than 3,400 scholarships, worth over VND10 billion (USD476,000), to disadvantaged children in 28 provinces.
Also on this occasion, the benefactors and businesses supported VND100 million for the Lang Son’s Children Fund.
Ms. Doan thanked all donors to NFVC for their precious support, hoping that the programme would continue to help disadvantaged children for many years./.
