Prudential Vietnam aid for newborn care worth USD49,000

Prudential Vietnam delivered an aid package of medical equipment and training for health workers at hospitals in the southern provinces of Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap and An Giang.

On March 6th, in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives from the Prudential Group, Prudence Fund of Prudential Vietnam Fund presented the donation worth USD49,000 to the programme “Breath of Life” under the East Meets West charity foundation.

The equipment being sent to each hospital includes a machine to treat babies suffering from respiratory distress, a photo-therapy machine to treat jaundice, an infant warmer to help premature babies regulate body temperature, a light meter, a pulse oximeter, a two-year supply of alcohol gel, and other neonatal medical supplies. 

The project in 2013 is the continuation of the project’s success last year. In 2012, Prudential provided approximately USD913,500 to different community development projects, including USD57,700 to the Breath of Life project to support newborn health at hospitals in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, the southern city of Can Tho and the southern province of Binh Phuoc./.
